About

The journey from my beginnings in Northern Minnesota has been long, rich, challenging and blessed. Now, having come full circle and been called home to the shores of Gichigami, I find the thread through it all has been one of healing. I was trained in college and graduate school but educated and refined by Life, by my own search for healing, by the people who placed their bodies in my hands, at the births and deaths I was graced to attend, and by teachers in many traditions ranging from Osteopathy, Daoism and Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, Herbalism, Deep Ecology and strong, land-based community ceremonies for decades. The land has shaped and taught me–from the eastern plains of Oklahoma to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of my beloved New Mexico–and now, finally, the deep, potent call of what has come to be called Lake Superior and the pull it has on my soul.

How do we serve the Earth and all her life? How do we make ourselves available for healing and the needed transformation of this strange and potent time? What is the role of Chiropractic in making us more adaptable to a rapidly changing and challenging world? What is the role of coherent movement practices, somatic therapies, true community based in contact with humans as well as with nature in these times? These are the questions that have both called me and pushed me deeper and deeper along the way. Now in my 43rd year of professional service, I love what I do more than ever, thanks to my continuing exploration of fascia and neuroscience and how they inform contemporary Chiropractic. I currently reside in Duluth, Minnesota, with my wife, the artist Riha Rothberg, and our best cat Gus. I continue to teach other healthcare providers, lead movement classes based on Daoist Internal Arts, and maintain a private practice.
